#38Very true. If you generally commit tax fraud you need to win a few points over year to make it ev for you.Originally posted by Bosseman22everyone takes a standard 500 deduction for charity anything over that they start asking for reciepts,so if this is your only charitable donation it don't mean squatComment -

#39November must have been mad boring..................Originally posted by SportsMushroomi dont come to sbr every day, just when im bored and just need something to fill my time with
why would i put myself in the situation were i need to come to sbr every day to collect points? that sounds ridiculous to me
why would you want the daily grind of trying to turn a profit on an sbr membershipComment -

#54Yea - I have to think this is the biggest upgrade time of the year. With BTP paying out so many points - you can almost pay for it just by doing well there (not me since i can't win a game this year - but others are doing well).
Nice 5-0 last week btw Mike - good hit!!!Comment -

#55Well you didnt factor in if you play poker you invest 10 pts a day for tournies.......But you also didnt say that SBR madeit 100 to join and that was for 2 years. If you didnt take that offer you probably think 401k is a bad ideaOriginally posted by newguyHere is why going pro just makes sense even for US players:
Cost: $200
Tax Savings: $36 (assuming you itemize and 18% effective tax rate)
Actual cost: $164 ($200 minus the $36 you get back on taxes)
I would imagine most live close enough to a Target where a Target GC could be used to purchase something you would buy anyway, and that most here spend at least $60 a year on pizza:
Target gift card = 2,950 points
$60 pizza cards = 1,275 points
Total points needed = 4,225 points.
That equates to logging in 353 out of 365 days (12 points/day*353 days = 4,236 points). $160 worth of gift cards leaves you $4 short of break-even. That means, over course of a year, you need to win $4 at the casino, sportsbook, or poker tables (and if you can't be +ev at SBR poker you are not in the right place - the daily's are almost free money).Comment -

#56Original post was when it was $200 and no 2 years thing - its obviously a no-brainer at this point. The 10pts/day for tourney I get but like I said - you really should be able to be +ev on poker. I have to honestly think you could be +ev on poker going all-in every hand at beginning of tourney until you either double up or get beat. If double up I think you can fold your way into the money.Originally posted by konckWell you didnt factor in if you play poker you invest 10 pts a day for tournies.......But you also didnt say that SBR madeit 100 to join and that was for 2 years. Never proven that but maybe will do that on nights I don't have time to play!!Comment -
