CK7 you should be thrilled that the entire forum is on Buccaneers or atleast the posters that have posted plays... i cant remember a time when virtually everyone agreed on a play and it actually won.

in case you do..
1st off 9ers are in nothing close to a must win..zona likely loses this week as well, if not so what sf goes home to play atl while zona goes to sea. then they play each other. seeing how if sf loses they are still in the drivers seat i hope we can agree this is nothing close to a "must win"
even tho we have established that this is not a "must win" ,,lets discuss these "must wins" and how often teams that put themselves into true must win situations fail cause that who they are and why they were in that spot in the 1st place.. i certainly dont know the numbers so if you got a data base or something that says i crazy i would stand corrected, but i seriously doubt you would come out ahead betting teams that "must win"..
i swear im not trying to be a ass here but even worse than the "must win" angle is the "team has nothing to play for", it far more typical for these teams to remain competitive than quit, most guys that play football love to play football. i loved fb and i damn sure wouldnt be out there not giving a shit cause my record sucked..shit this 1st year ive ever missed the playoffs in any fantasy league and im still putting in my best guys and winning the toilet bowl bracket cause men are competitors (and we just talking stupid fantasy, i fought even harder when i was on bad teams as a kid), well real men anyway and not many punks make it to nfl so while yea there rare occasions teams have quit it a way overblown theory as far more continue to play hard and compete than not...what exactly about the bucs have you seen that makes them less likely to try?
there certainly a case to be made for sf, i dont think it a strong one as basically i think it comes down to whether you think tampa can score 14? anything over 14 they cover. 14 they very well could cover for both sides of the right line..not saying i wanna bet tampa cause if this turnes out like panthers/bucs it wouldnt shock me as sf d very well could own the gm.. i do think sf is one of the better road favs to put in a ml parlay as i dont believe they will lose. cover feels like worse than a coin flip o me..Comment -

#52Ok, you got a point there. I mentioned a 'must win' situation, because Cardinals are 8-5 and SF is 9-4, so I don't think 49ers would like to be tied w/ Arizona at 9-5 after 14 games. Cardinals are probably winning this one against the Titans. But you're right about Tampa Bay-they will give SF hard time.Originally posted by 2daBankthere so many things wrong with this i dont know where to begin or even if i should cause you prob dont wanna hear?

#53i doubt many ppl have bet cards more than me this yr, love that team, think titans defense is a horrible matchup for cards offense, palmer banged up, housler hurt again, flyod on a gimpy ankle now. and really way to beat ten is with a power run gm and not sure if cards are strong enough to accomplish that and keep themselves out of 3rd and longs.. other side fitz loves dinking and dunking to walker and cards are the worst in the league against te's. so think titans have some success keeping the chains moving at least with him and wright working the middle underneath stuff. honey badger a big loss for cards that doesnt seem to be getting talked about. he made a lot of plays for them and they lose some of that ball hawking nastiness with him out.. unfortunately think zona could have rough ending to year..Originally posted by SharkAAOk, you got a point there. #5449ers coming off biggest game of the year. Travelling east for non-divisional matchup. Tampa is an improving team with an improving young QB. Also, Bucs have strong rush D and rushing is what '49ers do best. When betting NFL, you have to find live dogs, or, you're going to get killed.Comment -

#56I agree that the must-win angle can be a little mis-used and over-emphasized but in this case, you can go to 49ers.com and watch this week's player and coach press conferences -- from Coach Harbaugh to Defensive Captain P. Willis, they're calling it a must-win game and preparing the guys as though beating this Tampa game is just as important as the Seattle game.Originally posted by 2daBank...

This game will be competitive, no doubt. Tampa is hungry and there are many angles, coaches and players playing for jobs, Niners facing Goldson, Gore playing back at home, pride, validation, momentum, etc. But if the 49ers struggle or lose this game, it won't be because they came in with less than a must-win attitude. Total opinion on my part here, but the 49ers went to the NFC championship, then the Super Bowl, and they came up short. There's really only one goal and to get there, there's simply no room for losing. For them it's about getting Ws by any means necessary.
The set-up reminds me of the Rams-Niners game. Rams were getting credit for being a surging team with an improved defense and QB play. The Niners were underachieving and had actually just lost two games by slim margins. But in the end, the Niners outclassed the Rams in all phases. This game should yield a similar result. And I do recognize that the Rams game was in SF, but do the Buccs really get much of a home field advantage?Comment -

#68How does Tampa score? I see a long day for Glennon against NFLs best defense.Originally posted by t-wizzleThe Bucs have been playing much better in the second half of this season. They have a very solid defense that should give the Niners offense some real issues with their good linebacking corps.
San Fran coming off the big Seattle game is in a tough spot traveling to the east coast. They are expected to take this game but I think Tampa steals it.
Loving Bucs +5 and moneyline.
Edit: I am on Buccaneers +5 -110 for $500 and ML +200 for $100.Comment -
