Luke Walton couldn't get a UCLA offer, even with his dad pleading. It's incredible he even has a career in basketball, much less the career he had.

Luke Walton had underrated court vision.

only reason he was in the league for so long was due to who his father was.

His view from the bench was top notch.

He was a very good passer. He was also coaching at Memphis during the lockout. The understanding was that when the lockout ended, he had to go back to the NBA to maximize his earnings until his career was over, and then return to Memphis and be on the staff. Wonder what happened to that plan.

Really good points all around. Not sure specifically what happened to the plan or if it was a plan. He might have a job there come the off-season, as grabbing an assistant mid-season in college isn't going to happen.

His passing skills and court vision are the only things that kept him in the league. Kobe and Phil's love for the guy aside.

He had some good years. I remember asking why dont they play him more? Didn't his back go bad on him pretty quick? He had Larry Johnsons disease.
