Bear, I know a lot of people that don't consider -4.5 to be too far off of -7, due to their belief that the numbers in between aren't worth much.

I disagree in principle, but I see their point.

MN easy to figure out..every team that actually has a run defense killed them. every team that has average or poor run defense MN won. There is no other factors in this game to handicap its that easy....so do your homework there..

Good point. Syracuse couldn't stop GT's option offense or #1 Florida State's run game. Also allowed some yardage to BC with their big-time tailback Williams. Otherwise their numbers are excellent, except for an early-season game against a then-healthy Northwestern team.

First, this game is a joke. Minny has scored a whopping 10 points in their last two games, as they came crashing back to earth. Syracuse either wins big or loses big. This is a good game to pass on, as are most throw away Bowl Games such as this one. Minny has not won a Bowl game in quite some time. Three hints here. First, Bear picked Minny, so that is fade material. Next, watch the game before this one. maryland is a 2-2 1/2 point dog to Marshall. Syracuse defeated Maryland 20-3 at Maryland during the regular season. Finally, play dogs before New Years and favorites after New Years Eve.

Syracuse ML is the play. Minnesota always blows on bowl games. Too cold to practice after the last Big Ten game..players eat lots of greasy food on holidays.

Another thought on this one. Minnesota doesn't really want to be in this bowl game, their fans sure don't. They seem to think playing Syracuse is beneath them even though their history isn't even comparable to ours. Whatever. That said, they have beat us twice in the past 4 years so they probably will look down on this game as they had aspirations for a bigger bowl and not the same bowl two years in a row against a team they will have played 3 times in 4 years. Cuse on the other hand is very excited to be there and have the opportunity to get some revenge.

I have never been to a college football game before, told myself a few weeks ago if I could make the Houston bowl game I'd go.
