NFL: Tony Corrente's Crew Involved With Unusual Calls For Underdogs Last Few Weeks
You can blame him or blame the crew. The last 2 weeks he's been involved with some unreal calls towards underdog plays the last 2 weeks... possibly 3 (trying to remember what game he did.) The point of this thread is... I feel some NFL officials lean towards dogs for mysterious reasons. I use the key word mysterious.

Week 13 Arizona VS Philadelphia -3.5

With the score Philadelphia 24 and Arizona 21... Zona had to go for it on 4th down in their own territory 15 yard line with just over 2 minutes to go in the game. Arizona failed and turned ball over. Philly ball at Zona's 15 yard line. What makes this unusual is that with Zona's timeouts remaining Philly is almost guaranteed a Field Goal or a TD to cover the spread. It's 3rd and 5 and the pass was incomplete (so Philly would have to kick a field goal) Corrente reaches for flag. QB bootlegged out of pocket before the defensive holding occurred... regardless... 5 yard penalty... automatic first down. Philly kneels on ball. Game lands on 3.

Week 14 (Last night) Houston -3 VS Jacksonville

Clearly momentum shifted when Houston put Schaub in. In the 4th quarter with Jones-Drew out Houston was basically playing pass coverage. Jacksonville couldn't move the ball unless a flag was thrown. 2nd and 8 on their own 15 yd line with about 3:38 to go Henne throws a deep ball around the 50 yd line... a flag was thrown to change field position. No question in my mind. That wasn't pass interference... I've seen a lot worse this year. If Jacksonville goes 3 and out in that series... Schaub wins this game for Houston. Plenty of time remaining... Schaub was carving Jacksonville up.

In Week 12 I'm pretty sure Corrente had a game in which a penalty changed the outcome of the game late stages of the 4th qtr. If you guys can find the Arizona VS Philadelphia game on youtube... or a friend has it on DVR you need to watch body language of Corrente in that game. It's so obvious.

I'm not really making this thread to bitch. I won both games. These are cases in gambling that when you take the favorite... you have ZERO chance on winning. You can't beat a flag. Your hour long review of stats don't mean diddly squat. It shows you have to factor on who the public is on... or is their a huge steam play 20 minutes before the game kicks off. Trust me... refs get the info relayed to them by half time. And they act accordingly. But Corrente should be on everyone's watch list. He might just make the dog win every week from here on out.
