I am shocked that so many people are freaking out about this! The redskins receiver had it stripped on the next play anyways!! Whether it was 2nd down or 4th down! Simple as that, WTF are you all pissed about

It effected the 3rd down call. They threw a deep pass on 3rd and 1 when they thought (as the refs indicated) it was 1st and 10.

They still needed a touchdown with little time on the clock??

No one would be crying foul here if Davis held onto the ball because he was open and it was a perfect pass!

Why does it have to be an excuse? Redskins didn't play well but that doesn't change the fact there was a major mistake

It's pretty obvious the Refs fukked up and that changed everything including the playcalls.....bottomline

Remember the replacement officials. They weren't so bad after all. Redskins dropped passes and let the ball get stripped on that drive, but officials screwed up too.

The announcers even said the chains were being moved as the pass to Davis unfolded. So for all we know, RG3 was playing as if it were first down! And still made the decision to throw down field because time was running out

The only argument here is that they didn't stop to measure. But when your receivers can't even hold onto the ball...

People need to stop looking at from a win/loss perspective. That was pathetic officiating period. This is PROFESSIONAL football, yet week after week we have to deal with such amateur bullshit that both directly and indirectly affects the game itself. That's the bottom line to this ending.

Everything completely changes if they mark it correctly.....Redskins probably lose anyway but there's a reason why both announcers were going crazy....it's a major screw up by "professional" refs

That Garcon play was ran to the sticks because it was 4th down after the fact......they do not run that play if it was 2nd down

Regardless...It's a huge screw up
