If you know the set up of the defense it's very easy to design plays to beat it. They play to stop the run you send your receivers behind the linebackers. They play to stop the pass. You run a draw play with your RB.

Adjustments are a basketball thing. I'm not saying there aren't adjustments in football but this sport is all about beating your man on the other side of the line.

The one thing I will say is that the league is getting shittier by the year with the amount of control these quarterbacks have at the line of scrimmage. I can't stand watching these games when these qbs stand up there at the line and call out all this bullshit and make adjustments and then run these stupid little pick plays to the receivers. I hate football like it is now - too much of a fukking chess match pre-snap. Just fukking run your stupid play.

There were many phantom calls on that drive.
Pats got a few calls on their side like the screen you keep mentioning but manning got a lot of calls on that last drive. How about the missed PIs not called late in the game on Denver?

again, once the game was back to even or even after the Pats not only came back but took a lead the refs started to call it more fairly on both sides... throwing some flags and not throwing some. they weren't out there to make sure the Pats won... just get the game back to "drama" level. that's why all of OT went by and nobody had moved into FG range for the win... refs making sure a flag didn't win the game in OT for one side.
