NOT so FAST my friend !! IT'S playing physical football like Nebraska did in the 90's when they ruled not playing lady like now where they throw the ball all over hell !! One of the worst pounding that SABAN took in his career was when he coached MST. AND PLAYED the HUSKERS same goes with Les Miles when he was in the BIG 8 , HE GOT HIS A$$ KICKED but they learned to punish people with being physical every single play!! Recruiting helps but doesnt mean you win, constantly pounding on U EVERY PLAY HURTS & GETS DOWN RIGHT OLD. GO back and see what SABAN said about that A$$ KICKING he adapted to it to now do the same by pounding U TO QUIT !!

More people moving out of the Midwest and to the West and South.

Pac 12 & SEC + Florida State & Ohio state (who recruits the south more now) will be the powers for the foreseeable future

Recruiting only going to get tougher for non-Southern teams in the future with liberal mom and dad pulling their kids out of Pop Warner & High School football further diluting the recruiting base

Recruiting numbers mean absolutely nothing. Oregon never has recruited well and they have lost 6 games in 4 years. Stanford has also failed to land an alleged "Top 10" recruiting class and has lost 7 games in 4 years. Tennessee and Florida allegedly always have good to great recruiting classes and neither one of those phonies are going to a Bowl of any kind this season. So much for your theory. It is about coacching, NOT recruiting.

Most of the kids at top college programs don't have dads.

They are more likely to be parents themselves.

LOL at the Big 8. The SEC has always played physical football. And what moron doesn't know the only way to win consistently is to run the ball and play defense.

It has a little do do with it, have to have decent players, but the rankings are very skeptical. Usually as long as you are getting guys ranked in the top 500 you're good, because after a few guys it's completely up in the air how people will be. For Example from my Buckeyes:

Will be bagging groceries in a couple years: http://rivals.yahoo.com/virginiatech...is-Grant-88140
                  Probably a 2014 1st Round pick: http://rivals.yahoo.com/ohiostate/fo...ley-Roby-90488
They got this one right though!: http://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrecr...h-Spence-93798
