Nba clock???

Does anyone notice in some NBA games the clock stays running even when the ball hasnt been inbounded to a player?

then other games the clock is stopped until the ball is inbounded.....

nba has a running clock. clock stops after made basket in last minute of 1st, 2nd, 3rd quarters. Last 2 minutes of 4th quarter.
