I wouldn't call it pass interference because the ball was touched, in this case intercepted, before it got to the receiver. By rule it is not PI. However, illegal contact should have been called resulting in a 5 yard penalty and one final untimed play from the 13. Still a big advantage to Car but NE should have had one more shot.

footnote; Maybe I missed the rule change but you almost never see illegal contact beyond 5 yards called anymore. As a secondary player in my younger days I thought the penalty was dumb so glad to see them fazing it out. A receiver can make contact beyond 5 yards prior to the pass and its no foul, if the defender does it its a foul. Dumb.
