You obviously know nothing about USC Football, Pat Haden, or how things are done. First of alll, how do you know that Orgeron wants the job on a permanent basis? Secondly, how do you know what Haden is thinking. Maybe he interviewed Del Rio BEFORE the upset of Stanford.

USC could well be the best team in the West. Oregon has been exposed, as has Stanford. We will see just how good they are when they host UCLA on the 30th. They are not the best team in the nation. They still have a ways to go to catch up with Alabama and Florida State.

It's Haden's legacy hire. It either pumps USC back to national relevance of they wind up back in joke mode as they have been under Kiffin. Haden will exhaust all his opportunities. Even if a lot of ADs would probably have locked Oregeron up already ... if there is a big name coach interested that Haden thinks is going to fill seats and generate interest ... he's going to take a long look.
