I have read quite a bit about Corsi ratings and there are some important issues that need to be taken into consideration, such as certain ranks applying more stringent guidelines as to what qualifies as a SOG, and other rinks, such as Detroit, which apply a very liberal definition of a SOG. Before advanced stats, such as Corsi, can offer a real barometer to try and measure teams, the league needs to take a unified approach to recording stats. Still, it's worth looking at.
