No offense to those ragging on Tort this AM, HOWEVER, one reason he was hired at Van was to toughen up that team. For years the Canucks have been called a soft team. Finese and skill only, will no longer win in that division. You need to be big, bad and ugly to cmpete with the Kings, Ducks and Sharks. Tort has a Stanley Cup ring and has won at every level he has coached. Canucks have had docile type coaches for years, it didn't work. Hockey is a high intensity type game and Tort fits that mold. Personally with the injuries the Canucks have had this year i think he's done a good job. Givem a break...

Rocket rangers fan here. Got any lean on tonight's rangers caps game for me? Watching the team this year the power play is much improved for NYR especially of late. Torts did not afford players enough creativity. The improved power play has alleviated some of my frustration with the team but it has been replaced by a huge void in bench entertainment. Nothing beats torts reprimanding players like little children. Often screaming get to the end of the bench at his favorite target Michael Del Zotto. Torts along with Girardi/AJ Burnett situation with Yankees was a golden age.

He's the John Gruden of hockey. Over the top intensity, smart coaches who can get the job done but don't take long to wear out their welcome (with players and fans). Both won championships for us here in Tampa so they get a hall pass of sorts. But we understand
