I think this was part of a Super Bowl trends.

1. There has never been a NFL team that got home field advantage at the Super Bowl. Saints must get to the playoffs then get to the Super Bowl.

2. There has never been a Super Bowl winning QB traded to win another Super Bowl. Broncos must win.

3. There has never been a starting black QB that won the Super Bowl. Redskins must win.

the only theory on black quarterbacks that I know is that if you wait long enough, some pundit in the media will try the race card for ratings/sell newspapers and to create controversy

Jury still out on Newton. He played well down the stretch and Car was one of the best teams not to make the playoffs. The only game they were not really competitive in was the Giant game. Should have beat ATL/CHI on the road and had TB beat at home. Watch out for Car next year.

They weren't very competitive with Denver but of course Denver's the best team in the nfl so it's to be expected
