I grew up with the Uek doing Brewers games under the covers with my tiny radio - and it was awesome. But football? This is easy. Michaels (fellow punter) with Madden was 2nd to NO ONE. For pure play by play? There is no question, Gus Johnson.
He could read the bible and would make a billion dollars doing so - because his voice/passion/knowledge of the situation is 2nd to NO ONE. Micheals is the gold standard and Gus does not bring what he does - but it's criminal, to a viewer, to have him doing f'n gimp ass college football. If CBS paid him, we wouldn't have to put up with Jim f'n Nance (worst guy, ever), who belongs in front of a fireplace talking about a bullshit sport like golf.

Gus Johnson is the BEST play by play guy of this generation, short of Doc Emrick, the leading man for play by play of ALL time. If you can't get into a game Gus or Doc is calling? You're brain dead as a sporstfan.

John Madden was the greatest. Enjoy Jon Gruden's passion, guy cracks me up at times.

Dan Dierdorf is a dumb bastard and Troy Aikman is right behind. Respect Collingsworth when he played, dude could take a hit, but damn, he says some stupid shit. The three amigos might have all taken one to many blows to the head.

Imagine listening to a game with Dierdorf,Aikman and Collingsworth ? Penetrating torture.

I couldn't disagree More. Tirico is the biggest square calling games out there. He talks WAAAAAYYY to much. He also treats the audience as if none of us have ever seen football by getting hyper and explaining every little detail. You can see it coming when there's any clock situation or end of half scenario hes gotta be the first to blurt out what he thinks is happening, its so annoying.

He could learn by listening to Al Michael's, less is more. Hes the best in the business hands down imop.

Have not watched basketball in forever and could not believe Hubie Brown is still doing it. Always loved the guy. Has forgotten more basketball than all announcers put together will ever know and loves the game. One heck of a coach as well.
