Of course they will never be taken with the same degree of seriousness. But you cannot say someone is sharp/square or whatever based on whether or not they participate in the points program. Hell, im one of the most active participants here as far as points go and by no means am I deadbeat, bum, broke dikk or whatever else I get called from time to time. Now I dont consider myself sharp by any means but I have managed to make sports betting at least a slightly profitable hobby. By no means to I make enough to justify the time/hassle etc but since I enjoy it making a little extra just goes along with it. Same concept with SBR.

Poker is a different story, for those of you who say anyone playing SBR could never make money playing real poker that is completely false. I cleared a good amount of money playing online poker back in the day and there are at least 10 players here I would put in categories Id consider as better all around poker players than myself. I will not name there names due to some already having substantial self value of themselves and I would hate to pump them up any farther.

IF you wanna squander them away fine, there fun to goof off with as well, but please stop with the argument that nobody worth a damn could take points seriously because if your already doing the betting, its not hard to add them at SBR and while the value is substantially less then actual cash the risk involved is zero. If you completely bust out of points SBR will give you some more tommorow.

People at SBR find it impossible to believe that someone could gamble (and win) without coming here and posting about it.

I'm not hating on points... if you're a scratch gambler like most here, it can give you a nice little edge to help beat the juice. Afterall, it's free! And how perfect for a recreational gambler, no investment needed.

But if you think someone who bets a few thousand dollars a game is gonna waste their time betting a few thousand points, you're crazy. And the people betting a few thousand dollars a game are exactly the people who wouldn't come here. Sharps.

They do exist.

We can try to mimic them. And use certain tactics (line sniping/steam, edges, money mgmt/Kelly, etc.) to emulate them. But without totally immersing yourself (and perhaps your team) in line making and analysis, you'll never beat the books. You have to gain the edge with more knowledge. Knowledge that is also more precise and relevant. You have to think three steps ahead of the books just to beat the vig and pay yourselves. To live lavishly? Almost impossible.

But it does happen.

Is anyone at SBR doing this? Perhaps. But likely not.

Posting (and points betting) takes valuable time from capping and making real money.

i have beaten the books for a ton over the last 17 years and don't bet steam or kelly or any of that nonsense.

it was easier when bigger bonuses and neteller were around for u.s. residents, but it can still be done for smaller profitability.

i've bet really large sums of money and i still goof around with points, to be honest i have nothing better to do sometimes and i am just a spot bettor (only 2 large plays so far this football season, and both won easily). i also play $25-50 bingo sometimes at the casino for shits and giggles, it's fun for me...

Nice guy i enjoyed playing cards with him,then one night he pulled an Emily Haines on me,after beating me out of a few pots with silly cards,i beat him out of A pot and he went whinney on me with all the regular shit that usually comes from crybabies and whinners and much more inferior players then himself.

I was surprised to see him bitch and whine at me,never an apolopgy he just blamed it on liquor.

Lost some respect for him when he pulled that childish nonsense,but then again i'm sure he'll be fine without my respect.

In the end i still believe he's a decent guy and he plays poker well.

Destroyer. You better be speaking in generalities. It took me about 90 seconds to put 700 bucks on the nats ml this morning. Fk me cause I wasted another 30 seconds putting 1K sbr points on it. Guess my opportunity cost of that 30 seconds was "valuable capping time".

The 50K sbr points I've accumulated over the past 2 months equates to roughly 2500 cash. If you wouldn't trade a few total hours of your live over a 2 month span for 2500 bucks then you can't be saved.

Nobody is arguing against that statement/belief (highlighed part, most on SBR don't find it impossible)... they're just pointing out to you that your 'stereotyping' of people that post here and fool around with SBR points is (to a certain degree) erroneous.
