Yes, it will take an act of god for the Colts to lose, but Steelers covering 9.5 is very very possible. It was up to +10.5 for a bit earlier today on 5dimes I saw on SBRlines (-125).

I've got to be the biggest Indy fan on here, but I was betting against Indy to win the SB getting -115 earlier this week. I also took Steelers when they were getting 10. I'd have gladly lost those bets to see Indy win, though. ;(

What pisses me off, is that the Colts probably won't get another chance like this. But, even if they did, I don't know if I could bet on them.

It's not even the players. I think there's plenty of talent on this team. I think it's the city itself. There's just no positive football energy in Indy. Anyone that's lived there knows what I mean. It's like they don't understand or care what it's like to be an NFL fan. They might as well be watching soccer or something. I grew up in Wisconsin, and on a Monday after a Packers loss, it was like a funeral. Everyone was just quiet about it. If the Packers were brought up in conversation, it almost became a mourning process. There was a definite emotional tie to the team. Plus, people are intelligent about football. In Indy, I'd have the stupidest conversations with people about why a coach made this decision or that decision. My point is that I don't think there was any home field advantage today for the Colts.

Slacker, I like what you are saying about positive energy. I don't mean it in a mystical sense, but there is a certain energy around some teams in the league. A good amount of it stems from coaching philosophy and team cohesiveness. It doesn't always translate to a win, but I think it often helps teams play up to their competition even if they are outmatched talentwise especially in a must-win situation. Some examples are: New England, Pittsburgh, Washington (perhaps), Green Bay (in the past)...

Indiana is all about basketball.

I do want to point out a glimmer of hope Slacker; Boston is a baseball town but they manage to get it up pretty well for the Pats.

That's an excellent point, isetcap. My sister is a Bosox fan and she says any self-respecting Sox fan hates the Pats. I've never been out there, so I don't know how the Pats get any positive energy flowing. Something to think about.

Funny thing, the Steelers are a better road team than a home team. It's almost like there's "too much" electricity at home.

Im not hating, I don't get into that and could care less. I just think you could learn a lesson from the guys on here that are really good cappers. You never see them trying to tell you how good they are. They fill their threads with information that will be useful to the whole forum to help them make a decision on the game. The day you start following their leads is the day you become even a better capper. Karma is a mo fo and it catches up with everyone eventually.
