Monday Night Football: Panthers vs 49ers Picks & Betting Splits
Week 12 of Monday Night Football features an NFC matchup between Carolina and San Francisco.

SBR's Gary Pearson breaks down the action in his Panthers vs 49ers prediction:

    Over/Under pick: Under 49.5 (-108 via Caesars)

    Game prediction: 49ers -7 (-120 via bet365)

"I love this matchup for the 49ers as the Panthers are in a prime letdown spot after the emotional high of orchestrating a comeback win over the Atlanta Falcons.

MNF marks the third away game in four for Carolina, which traveled to Green Bay and Atlanta with a home game against New Orleans sandwiched in between.

Dave Canales' team is also wildly inconsistent, allowing at least 26 points six times while conceding 17 or fewer in four of the other five.

Most of the poor defensive outings came against teams ranked in the top 10 of offensive DVOA. The Panthers allowed at least 27 points in three of those four games, including 42 against the New England Patriots (ranked 10th) and 40 versus the Buffalo Bills (ranked 4th).

The 49ers have the sixth-best offense in terms of DVOA, and they're the healthiest they've been all season. In his return, Brock Purdy led his team to 42 points last week against the Arizona Cardinals. Only once before had the 49ers scored more than 30.

While Carolina's offense has proven its ability to accumulate points, it has been as inconsistent as its defense, scoring 16 points or fewer six times. The 49ers have been waiting all season to show what they can do with a healthy offense, and I expect them to make the moment count on MNF."

Best prop bet: George Kittle Over 54.5 receiving yards (-114 via FanDuel)

"It took Kittle a while to get going after returning in Week 7 from a hamstring injury. He hit the Under on this 54.5-yard total in his first two games back, both away matchups. That's unsurprising considering he missed six weeks.

In the last two weeks, Kittle had 84 yards against the Los Angeles Rams at home and 67 on the road last week against the Cardinals. With game sharpness apparently back to peak level, Kittle must be salivating at the thought of facing a Carolina defense that allows the seventh-most yards to opposing tight ends."

SBR's Dustin Saracini has his best Panthers vs 49ers player prop bets ready to go:

Christian McCaffrey Over 71.5 rushing yards (-114 via FanDuel)

"Carolina has a middling run defense, and McCaffrey may just get the volume we're looking for if the 49ers are sailing through this game in the fourth quarter. For his part, he's gone over this number twice in the last three games, averaging 6.2 yards per carry against a run defense in Arizona allowing just one more yard per game than the Panthers do.

FanDuel has the best betting odds on this one at -114, which means you have a 53.27% chance of your play cashing. Fire McCaffrey up as part of your best Panthers vs. 49ers player props for Monday Night Football."

Brock Purdy Under 250.5 passing yards (-114 via FanDuel)

"Carolina has a sneaky good pass defense, allowing just 212 passing yards per game. Brock Purdy is still getting his feet underneath him after coming back from injury, completing 19 of 26 passes in Week 11 for 200 yards against a bad Arizona team. Look for the 49ers to run their offense through McCaffrey for the majority of the night, and for Purdy to ultimately run out of time (and attempts) to go over this number. It helps us that the wideouts in San Fran are nothing to write home about."

Bryce Young Over 204.5 passing yards (-114 via FanDuel)

"Bryce Young is in a good spot to fly over this number once more. San Francisco owns one of the worst pass defenses in football, allowing 249.5 pass yards per game - good for 28th in the NFL. While Rico Dowdle will get his carries, this number is just far too low for me to think Young won't do enough to cash this for us. Especially if the narrative unfolds as I expect - with the 49ers holding a late lead."

SBR's Dustin Saracini also shares his MNF anytime touchdown scorer predictions:

Rico Dowdle To score anytime TD (-137 via Caesars)

"San Francisco is a bottom-10 red-zone defense, allowing teams to score at a 58.97% clip over 11 weeks of the season. Taking a back seat to Chubba Hubbard for most of the season, Dowdle is still 15th in the NFL in red-zone attempts and has scored three touchdowns inside the 5-yard line. In a game projected for nearly 50 points, expect the Panthers to visit the red zone several times, and for Dowdle to be getting the lions' share of the workload when they do."

Tetairoa McMillan To score anytime TD (+150 via bet365)

"McMillan is the undisputed No. 1 option in Carolina, and for good reason. He sucks up targets, totaling 36 over his last four games, and is their top receiving threat, scoring two touchdowns just last week. He's got four touchdowns on the season, but if the game script flips with the 49ers leading, expect McMillan to play a huge role tonight for the Panthers."

George Kittle To score anytime TD (+140 via bet365)

"Kittle scoring on prime-time football is like pancakes with maple syrup; they just go together perfectly. If you're Canadian, you understand where I'm coming from. Kittle is an incredible threat inside the 20, catching eight balls with a 100% catch rate. He's truly a nightmare for opposing defenses.

With three scores on 15 targets over his last two games, and all of his five scores coming inside the 20-yard line, look for Brock Purdy to find him when they make their trips to the red zone tonight."
