dismal 2-9 ats .

could only be moving based on wagers per side IMO. pre-season action so unpredictable,,, that being said, still some unders coming next week,,, as per previous yrs. week 3&4 of preseason should see those totals even up tho.

along with the UNDERS on a huge run, the line moves continue
to fail now going 6-19 ats for the preseason from the opening line
using wagertalk.com and the closing number from the westgate.

Some of week two's major fails were:
5 1/2 point moves to New England, Arizona, Kansas City, Carolina= lose outright
4 1/2 point moves to the Chargers another su loss and the Ravens with a one point victory.
4 point move to the NYG and another outright flop.

still can turn a profit, just gotta guess right ,,,but also now we need to pay attention to starters time on the field. I expect the totals to creep up with starters pullin more shifts,,, but,expect the totals to be just slightly inflated by the books knowing this info is public. IMO unders will still be the play week #3, but I will steer clear of betting an under on the higher scoring teams in wks #1 &2.

This is a good thread. NFL Pre-Season USED TO be a big handicapping event.

Guys would study it intently and get an edge. I'd say that two things changed:
1) The flow of information is so fast. Hard to get down b4 a number moves based on information.
2) I think the coaches have come to realize that Pre-season is garbage. The # of games has been slashed. A coach can look like the dumbest guy on the planet if he gets a Starter injured in a Pre-season game.

Do not over think it and do not go down with the ship.
If anything, abandon the "Under trend" from yrs gone by as (IMO) we are witness to change in real time.
With the "shortened" pre-season, I think we are witnessing how future pre-seasons will play out and that is to concentrate on Offense!
Overs are now at 4-0-0 AND (correct me if I`m wrong) Dawgs are also at 4-0-0. dawgs went 3-0 last night.

My best guess would be Week #1 pre will see an offensive type of game,,, week#2?? That`s where I would tread lightly, coaches will want to see what the defense looks like,,,, then onto week#3.... jump back onto that over the total mindset as they prep for week #1 reg season.

Soooo, lets see just what week #2 gives us. My "predictions" from the previous post on the shortened pre-season were that coaching staff will look to defensive strategies for the 2nd gm. lets see if that holds true......

Interesting reversal of an Under trend that dominated pre-season gms for yrs.... I see very little reason to even consider an Under wager at this point.
