Ravens @ Bengals 11/30

I don't think it is too early to begin the discussion about this game since it is on Thursday... Hats off to BBDan for making the call on the Bengals to make their playoff push ... I really thought that they were in the dumps after their terrible loss @ home to the Chargers... However, they have clawed back with two real solid wins the last two weeks. I'm not sure if the Steelers are soo bad that they made the Ravens look so good or that the Ravens are just flat out great... Either way, the Ravens played 60 solid minutes of football and I said last week that when they got #52 back that he would have them all riled up! First glance seeing the Bengals -3, I was kind of surprised... Yeah they have had 2 solid wins the last two weeks, but they sure as hell haven't played good at home this year... The Bengals offense has been clicking the last two weeks, but they will see how good they really are this Thursday against Ray Ray and E-Reed... I hope that the Bengals win this game for my Colts sake, but I really think the Ravens are for real this year... Suggs was all over the field today, Ngata and 52 were makin plays, their secondary was flyin around... I mean they had 9 count em 9 sacks against the Steelers! I truly think that if the Bengals win this game that they will make the playoffs and if they don't then they won't... They have to find some magic @ Paul Brown Stadium this Thursday! I am not real sure about this game yet... I have a lean towards taking the Ravens and the points for sure... Well, I thought that I would get the conversation rollin... I'm sure this will be one of the hottest games of the year...

As a lifelong Steelers fan, I'm thinking they just played THAT bad yesterday. No offensive line, weak D, and crappy special teams. Cincy should take down the Ravens in Cincy - wasn't it just a 2-3 point game when they played in Baltimore?

So, what is everyones initial lean on this game? I think I've got to take Baltimore and the 3... Their defense with #52 in there is unreal, not to mention Terrell Suggs who was an animal yesterday... Also, their offense hasn't been bad either! This could definitely be the game of the year in the NFL... Major playoff implications for both teams... What's everyone's thoughts?

For the heck of it, I'll throw in my 2 cents, although I must say I don't follow both teams that much, other than for the occasional wager. Now with my disclaimer out of the way, I think the key to the game is if the Baltimore defense can pressure Palmer into throwing earlier than he wants to, Balt. will win. I think the Bengals have had an injury plagued O line; and if the Balt D can constantly apply pressure, it should upset the timing of the Cincy offense. I'll take Balt. and the pts.

I agree with the Baltimore cover. Baltimore has a great secondary and is great against the run. I believe that Baltimore shuts down Cincy and runs away with this division.

I agree that the Ravens are the better team right now and I don't think there is any way that I can't take them and the points... R. Lewis has said that he thinks this defense is just as good or as better than the 2000 group which won the SB! This defense is as fast as they come and I believe they will be able to put pressure on Palmer... I see Baltimore winning this game outright, but I'll take the points...

Big advantage to playing at home on short week and motivational edge has to be with Cincy for both playoffs and revenge of 6 point loss at Bal on the 5th...

Also, great angle playing against road team coming off two SU and ATS wins at home, would have to double check but I think it is 9-0 this year...

I"m taking Cincy tonight -3, BAL is very good, but I say the game will come down to the last 4 mins. Should be a very close game, don't be surprise if Cincy actually ends up winning by only 3.

I don't know why I like the Bengals in this game because I still think their D is too awful, but their win at NO was impressive.

I do have to hand it to the Bengals defense for stepping up to the challenge... Pretty impressed by them considering the step UP in the Ravens offense with McNair in the saddle this year... Who's up next on this Bengals wrecking ball? I can't wait for December 18th, when I get to go see the showdown in the Dome against the Colts!

Games like this just show Baltimore cannot be taken seriously as a playoff threat. What do you think Indy, NE, SD or even Denver would do to this team in a big game?

I know Baltimore beat SD early in the season, but they were badly outplayed and lucky to win that game on a late TD.

I wouldn't go that far bud. You gotta remember this was a short week, and the Ravens have played some very good football this year. I'm sorry but i'm not making that type of statement based off of one week.
