I was just happy as sheit that the INHD channel picked up the HD broadcast of that game. Because the cable company out here does not have the NFL Network in HD.

Watched at a get-together with no sound, but not surprised Bryant was bad. Has he ever done an NFL game as a play-by-play man?

My only memory of him in sports was the studio host on NBC in the late 1970s and early 1980s before moving to "Today" and when Costas replaced him. I did prefer him to Brent "You are looking live" Musburger.

He was so bad that I ended up listening to the radio broadcast with Dick Enberg doing the coverage.

I thought the pre-game was alright. Collinsworth was ok in the booth, despite sitting next to the god awful Gumble.

Heh - I think I'm the only person that likes Bryant Gumble (I have Gumble 2 Gumble on my Tivo Season Pass!). I really can't stand Collinsworth. Although, Chris has cooled down a bit on being a total shmuck. Both had a few screwups in situations, but I think that was rust.

Overall, I really liked the broadcast a LOT. They had an excellent pre-game, also, to get you ready for the game - which is more than I can say for how they do Sunday games. It did feel like an NFL Europe or CFL game because Direct TV doesn't have the HD NFL Network feed, but overall, I was very pleased with their work.

Also - anyone see the NBC games in HD? What's up with them making it look like a TV show and not a football game? That filter they put on makes me ill.

I had the sound down, the visual coverage was fine.

Collinsworth seems to always be dramatic with his observations when I see him on tv. Can't stand him...but the 'loud critic personality' is what the networks think is needed, I guess. Can't stand Dan Dierdof, either, or Tony Kornheiser? I used to like Chris Berman; and he seems like a good guy, but his schtick is so old it's not even funny anymore. I love "You Are Looking Live!!" Brent Musberger on CBS!!! until they gave him the shaft. I'm old school, Dick Enberg-Merlin Olson, Don Criqui?! Johnny Morris and the other guy that did the Bear games. Pat Summerall and Madden. Those were the days.....

Don Criqui still does games for CBS, but unless you live in Tennessee, Buffalo or Houston, or have Directv, you never hear him. He always gets the 2nd or 3rd worst game every week. This for a guy who used to be on of NBC's top guys.

I still think Criqui is solid and better than 99 percent of the announcers out there.

Dick Enberg, like Keith Jackson, doesn't know when to quit. He has fallen badly in the past few years. Names wrong, yardage wrong. CBS was right to drop him to the 3rd team. Like older coaches, some guys just don't know when to quit.
