    49ers +6 vs. Eagles

    Game Time: 9/24/2006 4:15:00 PM
    By: L.T. Profit Sports Group

Play the home team this Sunday when the Eagles take on the 49ers in San Francisco.

We thought that the 49ers would be improved this season, but they have looked even better than we expected.

Apparently the addition of Larry Allen to the offensive line has made the entire unit that much better. Now that he finally has some protection, quarterback Alex Smith is showing what he can do this year, passing for 521 yards on a very good 8.40 yards per pass attempt without being intercepted yet.

The San Fran offense has also been dangerously balanced as the 49ers are averaging 117.0 rushing yards per game on an impressive 4.6 yards per carry. This will be a pesky club all year, and the Niners are very dangerous getting this many points at home here vs. an overrated Philadelphia team.

The Eagles suffered a fourth-quarter meltdown at home vs. the Giants last week, blowing a 24-7 lead and losing 30-24 in overtime. The defense is not what it once was, and the offense took a blow when the oft-injured Brian Westbrook injured his knee again. While wide receiver Donte Stallworth is a valuable addition, the Eagles need to get their running game going in order for Stallworth to stretch opposing defenses. With Westbrook hobbled, we do not see that happening here, which could put the 49ers in line for the outright upset.

    Play: 49ers +6

Its funny how they say Larry Allen has added to the O Line but he has only played a few minutes in week 1 before getting injuried and is still out. Wragge has been a solid backup so far this year though.

Sounds about right lol. I think there was a post before that the Eagles will blowout the 49ers..it just comes down to an opinion. A bad team can beat a good team on any given Sunday.

Yeah the only thing Larry Allen has added to the offensive line is injury lol. If the poster knew the 49ers at all he'd credit Frank Gore for keeping pressure off of Alex Smith.

Frank Gore has scored more fantasy points than any other RB in my league. The guy is producing although today will be a game won in the air. It seems like SF has some young talent in Vernon Davis, Battle, and Smith. They should be able to compete today but the lack of experience could hurt them today vs McNasty. No play in my mind...maybe over if anything.
