Chargers at Raiders - Sep 11th
    Raiders The Play Vs. Chargers

    By: Ben Burns

The Raiders begin a new era under former coach Art Shell and the Chargers start a new era behind QB Philip Rivers. Advantage: Raiders.

I'm taking the points with Oakland. San Diego has been much better than Oakland the past few years. Therefore, many of the recent trends will point towards the Chargers.

However, those recent trends aren't necessarily relevant as this is a new era for both teams, particularly Oakland. The Raiders have plenty of weapons and now have a new attitude with Art Shell back in town. Regardless of how well he may have played in college and/or preseason, Philip Rivers will still be making his first NFL start. Considering that first start comes in a hostile environment, and on Monday Night, I don't feel that San Diego deserves to be favored.

Playing with 'double-revenge' from last season, expect the new look Raiders to give their guests everything they can handle.

    Play: Raiders

I like Oakland tonight...I think Rivers will feel the pressure of his first start on MNF.

Im with you Johnnyboy, I am on the Chargers -3. I'm just not buying into this hype that the Raiders are all of a sudden a better team because of Art Shell. I think Rivers will do enough to keep the defense off balance and allow L.T. to rack up plenty of yards on the ground. Plus you can always count on the Raiders to shoot themselves in the foot with penalties and stupid mistakes.

          I'm taking Oakland.
Chargers could be over dependent on LT and therefore one-dimensional.
          Home team +3

I'm taking SD, LT has always done well against the Raiders.
Rivers does concern me a bit but I don't feel Brooks is much
              of an upgrade over Collins.

Good hit Johnnyboy. The Chargers bailed me out after the Redskins laid an egg. I pounded the Chargers pretty hard. You can always count on the Raiders when you need to pad your bankroll. Art Shell looked ready to pack it in last night.

                Sean Merriman is a BEAST!

Oakland looked like they were still stuck in preseason.

It was a rough one... They looked pretty bad... Could not stop the rushing game... Even with Sapp
