i like SD as a team, but i just don't think i can pick them to win the conference though, due to the lack of experience.

I like Kansas City in this one. I think their new coach
is a good fit there.
SD is so dependent on Rivers. I will be rooting for SD
to win!!!

In answer to that, I'll just say that Herman Edwards is among the worst coaches in the league, and the loss of OC Al Saunders is going to very negatively impact Larry Johnson (remember, Priest Holmes was a career backup until coming to KC and playing for Saunders). Way too much is put on the shoulders of a guy who has had one great half a season behind the best O-line in football (when he had fresh legs against defenders who did not). Not only will he be without Saunders, the Chiefs also lost their best lineman in Roaf. Trent Green is 200 years old, and I can't expect much from him, and he has very mediocre weapons to choose from (other than Gonzalez, who himself is aging). Defensively, this team is better, but still poor, and I don't think KC scores enough to make up for it like they have in the past.
With all that said, I think 4th place in the West is within a couple games of 1st. Something like:
Chargers 10-6
Broncos 10-6
Raiders 8-8
Chiefs 7-9

I say the Chiefs finish last too, they might go 7-9 or 8-8, but I think that will be dead last

the chiefs are getting older on the offensive side of the ball, and there defense isn't exactly considered even average. so i can see them finishing last in this division.

I just don't understand all this hatred for the Chiefs?
They have a QB who threw for 4,000 last year
A RB who ran for almost 2000 and only started 9 games..
One of the best Tight Ends in all of Football
Even if Willie Roaf doesn't play a more than effective
Offensive Line..
A Home field that is considered one of the most
if not the most hostile in football..
A Head Coach who should improve this team
defensively..
I just dont understand..

6. The worst in the division.
Plus, the worst defense in the division.

1. No way! Rivers is an untested virtual rookie in this league so he is out of the equation. Jake Plummer is one of the most apathetic starting quarterbacks of all time. Aaron Brooks is all you have left and although I expect him to play considerably better than in the recent past, there is no way I'd rather have him running my team than the consistent and reliable Trent Green.

The Chiefs will have a top 5 Scoring Defense this year, maybe yardage also, but definitely scoring. Their Offense will take a major step back as their HC is a clueless game manager who is already talking about taking the air out of the ball. All in all, they'll be good, but the talent on this team Defensively is outstnding and Herm does know D and how to maximize it, as opposed to Vermiel. The question about this team will be offense.
It'll be KC and Denver both 10-6, KC wins Tiebreaker
Oak 8-8
SD 7-9
