NCAA to narrow definition of preseason practic..
My local paper had an article the other day about Illinois holding a team scrimmage at Memorial Stadium after the Illinois/Minnesota football game. They set up courts in the endzone and it was a homecoming game for Illinois. It(the article) said other coaches have complained about Illinois, Kentucky, Marshall, and W.V. receiving a recruiting edge with their early practices.
So the NCAA is expected to narrow the definition of preseason practice to exclude public events.

well i don't know about other schools, but UofK has been having Big Blue Midnight Madness for as long as i can remember, it's only a sold out event at Rupp, they have like a laser light show and dunk contest and Blue vs. White scrimmage. Heck, UofK just had it over the weekend and Daniel Orton gave a verbal commitment after seeing the passion of the fans he was have said to of say.

I'm not a UofK fan, but it's a tradition that they've been doing a long time and if other schools don't do something to excite their fans and be able to show potential recruits something cool, then i say tough luck and get in the game. It's a high stakes battle to get the best talent and stay competitive. If other schools don't won't to have a preseason public practice to show of the team to their fans, well then they're losing out.
