breakdown of timeline for recruiting process for summer
July 6-15 evaluation period, coaches can travel to evaluate players at sanctioned events, including the camps sponsored by the shoe companies. there is no in-person, off-campus recruiting during this time.
July 16-21 dead period, there is no face-to-face contact with recruits during this time. an athlete can visit a campus but can't talk to coaches.
July 23-31 evaluation period , another period where the coaches can travel to sanctioned events, like the ones in Vegas, to evaluate players.
August 1- Sept. 8, quiet period, coaches can't have contact with a recruit off the college campus and can't watch a prospect play or visit his school. the coaches can write or call the prospects, and the prospects can visit a school's campus.
