1) Missed FT's
2) Letting KU get off a 3 instead of fouling
3) Fouling Chalmers with a 3 point defecit and the chance to get the ball back with 20+ seconds.

That's how Memphis blew the game, in a nutshell. 2 of those 3 are due to either poor coaching or just plain stupidity out of your players...

Unless the players simply didn't realize the game situation in both cases... Then again, the kids should have had the hoops IQ to prevent that from happening so yeah, it falls back on the coach, fair or not.

Isn't funny how percentages always seem to work out in the end. Free throws in the end got them as deserved during the regular season. Not fouling at the end though was awful.

imo missed free throws was calipari's fault.... they were stinking it up at the line all year and his public response was it wasnt important, well i think that sank in subconsciously with his team, that it wasn't a big deal.... bad idea to let 19 and 20 year old kids get the idea that something that historically has cost teams championships wasn't a big deal and it was ok that they typically shot 60% as a team.... i put the missed free throws even more so on calipari than the players.... but i disagree with the foul them in the last ten seconds argument, that can easily backfire on you, you play solid d with under ten seconds and force them to sink a desperation three to tie it, the odds are it will miss in the longrun, chalmers just stepped up and made an amazing shot.... IMO the sole reason they lost was free throws and that was calipari's fault from all the way before the Tenn game, his arrogance cost them a championship
