    Thursday Picks
    UNC -8
    Louisville -3
    WV/Xavier over the posted total

UNC has easily covered both games in the tourney giving me huge profits. Wash St has no chance of winning this game and about the same chance covering. Everyone knows that Wash St plays hard on the defensive end but this team has struggled again top competition this season losing to UCLA twice, Arizona twice, Stanford twice. That is 0 wins against the best in their own conference. (in those games Wash St gave up an average of 72.7 a game, well above there average when playing lesser opposition). These are the top teams in the pac 10. When they play top caliber teams they don't win. Now take the #2 scoring team in the nation and Wash St is going to have problems. Wash St is going to try and slow the pace (and dont think that this is the first time UNC has seen this) but no team this season has been successful in doing this. Look for UNC to wear down Wash St and then open this game up in the second half. Also, UNC has never lost a tourney game in state. Wash St has made it along way in the last couple seasons under Tony Bennett but their run will be over after tonight. UNC win this by double digits because it doesnt matter how good you are on the defensive end you have to score with UNC and Wash St doesn't have the fire power as seen with the games against Stanford, UCLA, and Arizona. They struggle with teams that have more than one scoring threat, and no one has more scoring threats than the #1 Tar Heels. Wash St only shot is to keep this one a low scoring game, don't see it happening as they have averaged 110 a game in the tourney.

Louisville has played very well in the tourney thus far. They have not played very tough competition in the first two games but they can win any game thrown at them as seen during the regular season in the Big East. They play very tough defensive and can shoot the lights out when they need to. Chris Lofton on the other hand is not 100% and the only way Tennessee wins this game is if he has a huge game. In the first two games his scoring is way down, almost a none factor really. In the end Lousiville will use their deep bench and get this win.

This over/under line appears to be off on the low side. Xavier has went over the posted total in its last 5 tournament games. Including 6 out or 7 when playing out of the conference, and 5 out of 6 when playing the roll of the under dog. Also, West Virginia is on a 7-2 over streak and 4-0 when playing teams from the A-10. Look for this one to be played in the 140's.
