    Saintly Thoughts...
2d round, time for me to jump in now that the retarded shocker games are behind us.....

I woke up at 5 a.m., analyzed Statfox, Pregame, College Hoops Net, Maui Sports Insider, CNNSI, Sports Network and Sagarin Ratings. I'm making these plays:

    WVU +4
    Purdue +3
    Notre Dame +1.5
    Teaser: Marquette +8/Kansas -8.5
    Pitt -2 (buy half point)
Texas A&M +11 (buy half point
    )

No write-ups cause I'm too lazy. I'll be in Atlantic City boozing and betting too much bankroll on these games.

    Bye, folks...and good luck!

St.Andrew- love your picks, need your advice- what am I missing on this Texas- Miami-Fla game? I mean the line is 6 and I look and Texas plays good D, they dont turn it over, and they seem to be on a mission. Why shouldnt they wipe out this Johnny-come-lately Miami squad? Did your research show something I didnt catch?

I'd give the nod to Miami +6.

The line looks about right, But Miami has these factors in their favor:

        - 8-0 ATS in non-conf this year
        - 5-1 ATS on neutral court
        - 16-8 ATS overall compared to 17-12 for Texas
        - Last five Miami is 3-1-1 ATS while Texas is 2-2

Sagarin Predictor has Texas winning by 6, Statfox has Texas by 5 and I have Texas by 3, 70-67. Game may be too dangerous for me to play, but if I had to I'd play Miami due to their conference better preparing them for big games.

Also, don't forget that Texas forward Gary Johnson is not close to 100% healthy. He averages 6 ppg and 4 boards per game. He's not a major force, but in a close game this could be a difference maker.

          Miami is healthy.
