    Western Kentucky +4 vs. Drake

Both Western Kentucky and Drake enter this game as teams that have covered a high percentage of their contests on the season. Drake has been the college basketballs largest surprise on the season while the Hilltoppers have ridden their star, Courtney Lee, to their 20th appearance in the Big Dance.

The Bulldogs surprised everyone, including themselves, in a 2008 campaign that won’t soon be forgotten. Entering the season this Drake squad was picked to finished 9th in their conference; now they’re a top 20 team nationally and a favorite to advance on the biggest stage College Basketball has to offer. The Missouri Valley champs personify team basketball; you won’t see the ball static too often when the Dogs are in possession. Drake has an untested run through their conference tourney, but they don’t figure to walk through their opponent this afternoon.

The Hilltoppers come in having won 17 of 18 overall and five in a row ATS. Lee is their do-everything guard; he figures to be a matchup problem for the less athletic Bulldogs. The concern for the underdogs this afternoon will be their ability to take care of the ball. WKU averages over 14 turnovers a game; that’s a number they’ll have to limit if they hope to end Drake’s dream season.

These two teams are fairly evenly matched across the board. The Hilltoppers are a bit better from the field, but Drake has an advantage at the line. Western Kentucky is the better shot blocking team while Drake is a little less careless with the ball. The teams match up evenly on the glass and are similar from three-point range. This line opened up at five and has moved to four despite the fact that the public is all over the Bulldogs. Tonight I’ll the points and the best player on the court.
