whats the consensus around here about adding heavy favorites to win into parlays just for the sake of "padding" your payouts? for sh1t's and giggles i made a parlay with 5dimes of HEAVY favorites to win in the opening round and a TEN team ML parlay pays abut 48% of your bet....and these are ten teams we're talking about...if you add wisconsin and uconn to that list, it barely pays 1:1

Wager type : Parlay Select #1 : NCAA Basketball Duke 3/20/2008 7:10:01 PM - (EST) Money Line -5000 for Game Select #2 : NCAA Basketball Kansas 3/20/2008 12:25:01 PM - (EST) Money Line -10000 for Game Select #3 : NCAA Basketball Wisconsin 3/20/2008 9:40:01 PM - (EST) Money Line -850 for Game Select #4 : NCAA Basketball Stanford 3/20/2008 5:00:01 PM - (EST) Money Line -1600 for Game Select #5 : NCAA Basketball UCLA 3/20/2008 9:55:01 PM - (EST) Money Line -30000 for Game Select #6 : NCAA Basketball Georgetown 3/21/2008 2:55:01 PM - (EST) Money Line -2500 for Game Select #7 : NCAA Basketball Memphis U 3/21/2008 9:55:01 PM - (EST) Money Line -12500 for Game Select #8 : NCAA Basketball Texas 3/21/2008 3:00:01 PM - (EST) Money Line -2200 for Game Select #9 : NCAA Basketball Tennessee 3/21/2008 12:15:01 PM - (EST) Money Line -5000 for Game Select #10 : NCAA Basketball Louisville 3/21/2008 9:40:01 PM - (EST) Money Line -1250 for Game Amount : Risking 100.00 To Win 48.19 USD

question is, is it worth doing?

I think if you're entirely confident that none of them are going to struggle ... why not make an extra $50 if you want to. Personally, I would probably toss in a couple of the point spreads on the highest ML teams to bring the payout up. Say Tennessee -20 and Memphis -24.5 instead of the MLs. Those are the two I am most confident that they complete out-match their opponents.

like always. it depends on "which" heavy favorite.

Even though I happen to agree that all 10 teams will win, I still would not parlay this many teams for such a small payout. The risk is just not worth the reward when one team blowing up kills the whole bet, and that has been known to happen when least expected during March Madness.

What about a round robin? With that many ML plays?
