Question for the Experts on the NIT
Is it safe to cap the NIT games the same as any other tournament game? I heard a number of people here say some teams dont give a shit.
Any pointers on how to cap these games differently, or if you even believe one should do so?

Motivation is certainly a factor. However, sometimes its difficult to assess how teams are going to react and in the end, how it will effect their play. Some teams who think they got the shaft by not getting at large bids for the big dance may be apathetic about the idea of winning the NIT. However, another team in the very same scenario may be out to prove that they belonged there instead. Unless you have a good reason to assume that a team is not going out to win a game, I would handicap it as if it were just another regular season game..

      Maryland +3.5?
      Oklahoma State +5.5?

      Why?

Both are on the road against teams who play well at home. I really like Ok. St. against the underachieving Salukis. I'll be laying off the Maryland/Minnesota matchup though...

I'm extremely tempted to take Okie St +5.5

I want to stay away from NIT but this one is calling me in.

I might these games in a tease but something bugs me about betting on the NIT's. Its a nagging feeling that things arent going to go as planned.

I think there will be some nice ML plays tomorrow. Gonna wait for those and maybe play 2 or 3 with half units. Gonna read up on, or atleast try to, to get a read on motivation.
