I made a list of a few teams that from the looks at the stats, and records, and all that other crap that people use to forecast sports, cant seem to lose (from how they look on paper against their oppositions)...lets all put our sports IQ's to the test, discuss some of these predictions...from the looks of things around the forum, a lot of us have been having a pretty sh1tty past few days (i being one of them) so lets work together here and compile a list....i will be updating the list periodically according to what people say...If you post a pic, please explain WHY you are picking that team...a lot of people here want some sort of logical reasoning before betting on a team)
1. Texas -850 (playing nebraska at home, nuff said)
2. Wright state -750 (wright state 12-3 at home, detroit 1-12 on the road)
3. Kent state -260 (kent state 14-0 at home, miami(ohio) 4-9 on the road, best team they beat is ball state(5-22)
4. Portland State -850 (portland state 10-1 at home, eastern washington is 2-11 on the road)
5. Austin Peay -550 ( AP is 12-1 at home, only losing to a very good Akron team nearly 3 months ago, eastern kentucky 5-8 on the road, best team they beat was Tennessee Martin (which is only 7-6 at home)
6. Orlando Magic -420 (Magic playing against a bosh-less raptors team at home. Raptors just lost to the bobcats at home)
7. San Antonio Spurs -800 (Being from New Jersey, I know for a fact the Nets won't win this game. They have no beaten the Spurs in like 7 years)
8. LA Lakers -225 (I can't see the Lakers losing to the Kings unless Artest knocks out Kobe. Martin-Artest-Miller can't keep up against Bryant-Gasol-Odom)
9. Illinois-Chicago -750 (Illinois-Chicago 11-3 home record, Youngstown 2-12 on the road, with only one road win in the conference against horrid detroit)
Incase you're curious, all that parlayed would pay 100:366
Teams I'm 75% about...
1. Valparaiso -250 (12-4 at home against 3-10 on the road, but Valparaiso has some stupid home losses, and wisconsin-green bay already beat them @ UWGB in OT)
2. Murray State -260 (13-2 at home, against 6-11 on the road, home court always seems to win in the rivalry between Murray State and Tennessee Tech, but all that shows is that each team is capable of beating the other)
3. Tennessee Martin -260 (7-6 at home against 7-8 on the road. Tennessee Martin has spanked Samford both times the teams have met this year. I can picture a lot of people jumping on the Samford ML from the looks of the records)
My favorite dogs for tomorrow
1. Purdue +105 (Odds are the ML option wont be available for Purdue, but Ohio state hasnt been able to beat any ranked teams all year, except for when Syracuse was ranked early in the season. Plus the best team Ohio state has beaten at home all year has been Iowa)
2. Bowling Green +140 (Bowling Green is playing the worst team in the MAC, Buffalo. Buffalo has only two wins all year in the conference, one against a HORRIBLE road team in Eastern Michigan and @ a HORRIBLE team in Northern Illinois. Plus, Bowling Green just beat Kent State, which was just recently ranked)
3. UTEP +160 (UTEP's road record is horrible, recently costing me money and losing against a pathetic Southern Methodist team. But something tells me they'll come out fired up against Southern Mississippi)
4. UNLV +245 (I was surprised when I saw UNLV being such big underdogs in this game. UNLV has a better conference record then New Mexico, and beat them by 19. However they are playing on the road, in which they are 6-4 compared to New Mexico's 14-2. UNLV blew out #24 BYU by 29 points earlier in the year. New Mexico's home record is deceiving though, the best conference team they have beaten is Utah (15-12 overall, 4-6 on the road) and it took them overtime to do it.
5. Eastern Michigan +125 (decent team playing a really bad team...)
other picks i'd consider
1. Ohio
2. Mississippi
3. Virginia Tech
4. Morehead State
5. Ball State
