Utah St my anchor team today...This is the last home game and Carroll's last home game of his college career....16-0 at home this year, if they win out they can still tie for the conference championship and that's their goal...I looked at Fresno St's inside info and they don't even mention this one having a chance to win...only that their last one vs Nevada coming Sat is one they are shooting for...

Portland is 5-7 at home, and Saint Mary's is the fourth ranked opponent to play there this season. The Pilots lost to Oregon, BYU and Gonzaga by an average of 23.3 points in their previous three home games versus Top 25 teams.

St Mary's can't afford a loss and finish third in the conference as they know only 2 teams have a chance to make it to the tourney and San Diego is right there if they lose...they still have an outside chance to tie Gonzaga for first...they will be motivated.

The line is staying at -9...and still like it...I like the first half play as well if you can get it...

BTW- I would stay away from San Diego after seeing the following at cbssports.com inside info on this team...

After losing to St. Mary's 61-54 on Feb. 25, San Diego does not have much to play for in its final two regular-season games, so its focus may be trying to rid Brandon Johnson of his shooting slump before the conference tournament begins on March 10 on the Toreros' home court.

Johnson, an all-conference player last season, has had three straight poor shooting games.

He was 2-for-15 from the field in the loss to Gonzaga, and one of those buckets was a desperation, 30-footer as the shot clock ran down.

He then went 4-for-15 in the Feb. 23 game against Santa Clara, a game the Toreros eked out, and then was 4-for-14 from the field and 4-for-9 from the foul line in the loss to St. Mary's.

Johnson is the player who makes San Diego go, and if he is not on his game, the Toreros will have a hard time winning the WCC tournament, even though it will be on their home court.


I don't want to have to count on this guy to get a cover tonite...screw that, and all they will care about is a win so if it's by 8-10 pts they'll be happy...I'd stay away...

Hornets due for a win and after reading about San Diego I like the tease going LMU way...and I really like Pitt to keep this close or win so I like this one

I'm adding St Mary's -12 tonite

The Gaels lost at Gonzaga on Saturday, and now need to win the conference tournament, or gain an at large bid. That means there is no fooling around with this game, as each additional win just builds the resume. Portland has been a disaster vs the good teams on their schedule. They have met Gonzaga twice, St. Mary's, BYU, and Oregon. The results aren't pretty. They have lost all 5 ATS, and have come no closer than 22! They have allowed 51.8% shooting, and 40% from 3 in these games, as well as getting torched on the boards 38.2-25.8, or by nearly 13 a game. They have shot just 35.5% and 25.8% from 3. The Pilots have managed just 2 covers in their last 12 games, and have basically packed it in. St. Mary's wins here by 20+.
