    Goin big on the Irish!!
Marquette has huge w/l spreads this year when both winning and losing having a point differential of 19.2 (point difference) in last 21 games played.. Now this includes both wins and losses but shows the inconsistancies in Marquette's all or nothing guard play...Only 3 of these games have been won or lost by less than 6 points...My point here is that Marquette either wins BIG through slashing O and perimeter guard shooting against uneven teams or loses BIG against well rounded teams when the opponent jams the key and forces a perimeter game which can't be won (supposing the opposing team can score on its own side).. Marquette's way of catching up has been ugly and often unsucessful and they hemmorhage points when trying to catch up with 3s and ugly drives...This is not to say they dont have the ability to win and they have proven that ...

But look at road losses to WVU, UConn, and Louisville (all blowouts) WVU game they were down 1 at half and lost by 15 after trying numerous 3s (WVU shut down the inside)...
UConn game they got down huge after first ten minutes and then a high 29 several minutes later after trying the 3 game again and again lost big ...
Louisville... both stars David Padgett and Juan Palacios were out for the Cards, but they cut off the passing lanes, closed the middle from forwards and pressured the outside forcing MQ to go 0-13 for 3 and lose by 20.

Now knowing that the Irish can score consistantly from inside and out...and knowing they have a homecourt presence that tops the Big East...I ask how good is their inside D???

Tough... Not only skilled but tall underneath...This MQ slashing game will be nullified....They will have to shoot long range on an enemy court and this will be another disaster for the eagles.... Again ND is GREAT at home beating similar opponents by an average of 10+ including Kansas State, WVU, UCOnn, Cincy, Providence, and Seton Hall... Spread here is at 5 so Ill take it.....

Goin Bigs 1-0 (PSU @ Purdue -11) Purdue wins by 14....

Excellent analysis. After my quick review of todays NCABB games, this ND line stood out to me also. Your analysis has helped me make my decision. Thanks for the write up. I am laying three units on ND.

This one might be closer than you think. I respect Creans preparation and bounceback ability. Barro has been playing over his head. James was very sick against Louiville. McNeal has had 2 less than normal starts in a row. MU going with a smaller rotation. I agree they will have to hit the outside shot here but with a healthy James he can penetrete and dish.

No play for me but hope you cash.

        Be cautious of ND

After Marquette beat ND by big margin in first matchup, ND coach said Marq was flat-out quicker than them. Revenge means nothing if the other team is faster. Also- the public is all over ND so far today, my line went from 4 to 5 1/2, which usually spells doom for the favorite. I'm taking Marq only because public only remembers the last game from each team

James penetration is what covered for MU. Seems like ND gave him free layups in the last 4 minutes.

I agree...I was on them to. Let Marquette steal the ball on 3 straight possessions an let them get easy layups several times.
