Minnesota at the only D 2 team in the big ten???
I have looked this game over and Minnesota moneyline looks like free money, anybody here disagree with that??

I could almost say Minn -5 is pretty much free money....

I just dont get it really, I know in conference rivalry and blah blah, but look at the stats, oh and if you are still not convinced by the huge gaps between the two teams statistically, then look at their last meeting this season in Minny, a 19 point win by the gophers?

I just don't get it.... Indiana played at NW this past sunday and were favored by 19.5... I know Minnesota lost 3 of last four and are in a skid.... but the same could be said about the hoosiers when they limped into NW....

NW averages 24 rebounds a game.... are they serious, 24 friggin rebounds a game..... I wont go as far as to garuntee a gophers blowout here, although I think they win by DD fairly easily.... I will say I think Minn on the moneyline is about as easy money as you will ever receive wagering.....

I am very interested if anyone has another angle on this one.... b/c Minnesota ML looks to good to be true, funny thing is i felt the same way last week when Minn was at Mich and I never won a wager with so much ease.... it was the same scenario too, Minn at Mich favored by only a few points.... you would think vegas would have learned.....

Tubby is gonna capitalize on this easiest road victory in the big ten, because he knows if this team has any shot of playing in March with the schedule they have in february, they are gonna need every win like this one they can collect.....

seriously, any doubters that Minnesota wins this game????

what i think about the 1H wouldnt really vary from what i think about the game in general.... superior teams usually jump out ahead early, so based on that and this match up.... i would have to say Minnesota would be ahead at the half.... and given that Vegas gift-wrapped a spread at -5.5, that means the 1H line is about -2.5,.... I mean if the rationale is that NW can't keep up in this game.... 2.5 is not much to lay in the first half....

I cashed with Minn at Mich last week and Minn went ahead by DD in the first 7 minutes or so and the lead was never less that 9 after that point for the rest of the game....

Just has the smell of a Minnesota rout throughout this one.... i cant get over that rebounding edge, Minn 34 rpg vs. NW 24 rpg.... that's a joke.... plus look at the only teams NW beat this year, not even a mediocre D1 program in the whole list....

benedictine, texas pan am.... cmon are you serious.... oh and i read a post earlier where someone noted that Mich beat NW at NW by DD and we saw the clear mismatch between Minn and Mich last week....

I dont like suggesting anyone else's money on one pick or another, but GL man, I am hoping this cashes, and from the analysis I did, feel fairly strongly that it will.... I am 99 % barring some fluke that Minn wins outright and probably about 80% or so that they easily cover -5.5

yea i was researching this game for a while too, trying to find something wrong with it. never did. NW leading reb and so called "big man" is 6-8 190. minn center is 6-9 260... thats 70lbs difference. the only thing that could kill us, is if NW catches fire from the 3. they attempt a lot of 3s.

i hear ya, but if they can catch fire from behind the arc, dont you think it would have happened at least once already against another big ten team?? wow, i am glad you just made me look this up, i knew they were 0-8 in big ten, but get ready for this, in big ten play this year here is a list of how much they lost by in all 8 of those games:

          11 11 19 10 12 16 33 12

they never lost a game to a conference foe by less than 10 in any conference game this year.....

for me i take back what i said earlier.... Minn -5 is about as close to me saying something is a lock as i ever will get to picking out a 'lock'

I can't see NW keeping this loss less that 7 or 8 points in any circumstance, i think for NW to even lose by a few they would need a complete Minn meltdown and i dont see that happening

yup lets slam this and cash. tubbys aggressive man to man d should be able to hold NW to under 60 points easy.

really tearing this game apart trying to find any flaws in the logic that Minn wins easily....

in the last game they played where Minn won by 19, NW actually had a scoreless stretch in the first half where they did not score any points from the 12:58 mark until the 5:12 mark, that means they didn't score a point for almost 8 minutes.... that's when Minn built a ten point lead and they played pretty much even from the 5:12 mark until the end of the game....

that concerns me a bit, not like you can bank on a team not to score for 8 minutes again in the rematch in order to win comfortably, meaning if NW stays steady and doesnt go ice cold, the game could be within a ten point lead for most of the game....

on the flipside, Minn did outrebound NW by 10 boards (38-28) as expected, but again that rebounding margin probably largely was inflated a bit by the fact that NW missed every shot they took during that 8 minute stretch....

just trying to be objective about this apparant mismatch.... i really want to know i am on the winning side before i pull the trigger on this one

I agree on taking MINN..but I wouldn't play -5...NW may come out good...both of these teams shoot the same %...NW give up a 5% higher, so over the course of a whole game I see MINN pulling away and winning...I wouldn't play the first half for much...for me they are definitely in a ML parlay play and straight up ML play at -215
