Creighton vs Indiana State-----ALERT! point shaving
late last night, I got a deep inside report that there might be some point shaving on this game. I'm hesitant on going into this further, but when I heard that some books have closed this game off, and Las Vegas has some books having $500 limit means that this report got out.

Apparently a Indiana State bench player told a Sycamore staff member that something might be up.

I did some digging around, and the team had a meeting early this morning, topic wasn't mentioned, but this might be very interesting game to follow.

Hmm...Indiana St is a dog and they are talking about point shaving! Shouldn't it be Creighton talking about point shaving?

I guess Indiana State didn't do a good job shaving. They won straight up 62-54. Unless it was Creighton that was suppose to shave.

it may have been Creighton, cause after i looked at the game and capped it AND called my guy and played it, I went to sportbookspy to check the betting %'s and i think Creighton had like 98% of the early bets, this was early in the A.M.

So you are saying Creighton was planning to shave points when they were a fav at -3, maybe win by 1 or 2, and then decided to lose straight up to make their bets safer? If that's the case then why not bet the Indiana St. ML?

                      Stupid thread with stupid arguements.

Folks. We're talking here about a Jesuit University in Omaha. The only thing they shave is their heads.

I agree that the thread is stupid, but me being a conspiracy theorist, after i read it(the topic of this thread), i did think it was odd when i was checking bet/line movements that morning and Creighton had over 95% of the bets on them. i doubt this happened, but one could speculate that maybe someone of "influence" got hold of a key player at Creighton to help the outcome of the game, but the person who started this said it was Ind.St. that was shaving, and as Durito pointed out, theres not much shaving in 3 points, maybe tossing a game, again it was probably someone like me and everyone else who thought Creighton was the right play and they just flat out lost.

                              EXUSE ME

I've been around here much time though as a reader and don't post often. I appreciate everyones thoughts on sports games, but i just had to sign up after reading this particular post which is very serious allegation!

                              though a funny one.

                              BUT

What really got me upset over this topic is that some of you fools reply with such stupidity, and nonsense, that make me wanna throw a brick through my computer screen. You guys have no clue what your talking about.

first. some of you foolz suggest you can't point have -3 WHAT???? thats the creap of the crop for any under dog to shave points. DO YOU KNOW WHAT POINT SHAVING IS?

creighton wanted to win by 1 or 2? are you stupid? dumb poster.

INDIANA won this game by what? think about it!

I watched this game and did you see the stats? did you see who was on the floor the 2nd half, and how Creighton was subbing? very well this could have been fixed a game.

Also, i went on some other forums, and they suggested that the rumour got out when they held a team meeting. on other boards they suggest that the meeting was held late night before, after some official travelled to the game to talk to both teams.

also, i've heard that some las vegas books also cancelled all winnings on this game.

I've also heard that $450,000 payout was made on this game momets after it cleared.

I did 15 minutes of research and foun quotes from team officials and even from Las Vegas sports book managers.

Did you also hear about the Toledo fixed game? it took months before it got out.

Since you know all that much about fixing games you can make a living betting on them. Mortgage the house and bet BEFORE THE GAME. Don't come here and preach us that you knew everything that happened in betting after the game is over.

And by the way, bushoms, swoosh, and forum rock is the same person so go sell your crap somewhere else.

Guys I live in Vegas. I have 3 Casinos and SportsBooks within 1/4 mile in either direction. The book managers I talked to said it was just a rumor. The books here do not take any chances. They will take a game off the board if any rumor comes to their attention.

One other thing. The teams in the Missouri Valley have one of the strongest home court advantages in the country. Take a look at the games over the last few years. About the only team that can win consistently on the road is Southern Illinois. When I look at conference games of this conference I look at the home team more often than not.
