Syracuse -7 (h) & -13.5 (g)
After going 1-0 on Friday by taking (UC Irvine +14) on my listed plays (best bets). I also posted a real lucky play with Butler which would have scared me if I did have money on it. I do not like to win on last second shots. I had also posted St Joseph's and they won. I did have a lot of critism for my Butler pick. I went 3-0 and am on fire for the week when picking less than 3 picks, usually picking one game per day. I am 11-2 on my last 13 listed college plays here on SBR Forum.
I got a pick that is good as gold (5 unit play) . I am going with the Orangemen and are facing a Northeastern squad that has been in lot of its games this season and have a 5-1 ATS record on the road. Some handicappers would disagree with me on this pick. There are some that always like taking the underdogs only.
I was researching last season's game in which Syracuse beat Northeastern 81-58. In that game, Syracuse played man to man defense and fell behind 22-7 at the 13:27 mark in the game. Northeastern started the game by getting good looks from 3 point range. Syracuse made a game changing adjustment by going from man to man to 2-3 zone defense. Syracuse went on a 20-5 run to tie the game at 27-27. Syracuse eventually built a 41-33 lead at halftime and won the game 81-58. After making this adjustment, Syrcuse ended up outscoring Northeastern 74-36 in the last 32:37 of the game. Syracuse has some very talented freshman on its team and now are really gelling as a squad. In this game tommorrow morning, Syracuse will open up with 2-3 zone defense and put the clamps on Northeastern like they did last season. The last three games for Syracuse have been blowouts. Beat E Tenn St 125-75 and Colgate 87-59. I felt like that they took it easy on Cornell by beating them by only 16 (80-64) and not covering. Syracuse should really be ready even though they lost Eric Devendorf. He was the leader of the team. The freshman are really stepping up big time and are led by Freshman Donte Green. I expect him to have a big game after going 4-16 from the field and scoring only 11 points in his last game versus Cornell. This season Green is averaging 18.2 ppg, 8.6 rbg and 1.9 apg. Green is shooting 46.1% overall and 35.6% on three pointers. Guard Jonny Flynn is shooting 52.6% and 47.4% on 3 pointers. Flynn averages 14.3 ppg and 6.3 apg.
ONaku is shooting 69.1% and averages 13.8 ppg and 7.8 rpb. The other starting guard Paul Harris is averaging 12.4 ppg, 9.8 rpg and 3.3 apg. Harris is shooting 48.9%. Syracuse's other starter is Rick Jackson who is the only one of the starters not to average double figure in scoring (4.6 ppg).
You cannot go wrong with legendary coach like Boeheim. Playing early morning games 100 pm eastern time definetely favors the home team (Syracuse). They will have ample time to get ready since they last played Dec 22 against Cornell. I don't think Boeheim will let his team fall behind like they did last year against Northeastern. Look for them to utilize the 2-3 zone. Syracuse wins this game by 20 plus points.Comment -

i hate doing this, N'Eastern has burned me so much over the years, when i pick then to cover, they get blown out, when i pick against them, they keep it close or pull an upset. i still think the Cuse' is the far better team.

I went 3-1 with my NCAAB picks yesterday. I hoping to get one more win this weekend in NCABB. My only pick will be North Carolina -23.5. I know they are due for a loss ATS, but I have been making too much from them to not keep picking them. How can I leave one of my best friends when they have been so kind to me.
One of the reasons I like NC right now is because of the comment Roy Williams made. He said if his team is up by 20, he wants them to push it to 30. That is my kind of coach.
I am an MSU Spartan fan. I wish Tom Izzo would use this guideline. When I went to the Spartan game yesterday, he put the scrubs in with a couple of minutes to go. I wish he would just punish teams. Good Luck all.
