Sometimes there are extremely large line moves between the LVSC Opening lines and what are actually available from Caesar's, The Mirage, Wynn, etc. Is this an indication of anything useful to us, the bettor, or does it just show the ignorance of LVSC on that particular game?

The line originates out of Las Vegas (LVSC), however a lot of offshore books adjust the lines accordingly to help try and draw even action. I personally feel that the offshore linesmakers are a bit sharper than the LVSC.

LVSC set's up the spread by using alot of different things such as ratings etc.. So the set the first spread based on the teams'. The place you mention all Casino's, MGM, WYNN etc., want to what's call even the paper meaning not to have one team weigh more than the other so they will move the spread based on whom is betting on what team. If one team receives too much leverage over the other than they adjust the spread to make it appealing for new bet's to place on the other team...
