Aight fellas, I'm back after taking a couple of days off to get rid of the old flu bug. I must be thinking clearly with no distractions to be able to cap games in my right frame of mind. Anyways, looking to stop the 2 game slide, so here ya go. 1 play for sure for Friday and maybe 1 more depending on what the line does overnight and into tomorrow.
YTD 7-4
Siena -2.5
Reason why: This game is both clubs conference opener so it is always good to get that first conference win under your belt. This game pits a great offense versus a not-so-great offense. Siena on the season is averaging an impressive 82 PPG on 46% shooting. Siena boasts 4 players who average double figures in points led by star guard Kenny Hasbrouck and his 18.2 PPG on 47% shooting. Close behind, forward Alex Franklin is averaging 16.8 PPG on 58% shooting. Not to be outdone by the others, forward Edwin Ubiles is averaging 16.7 PPG on 51% shooting. On any given night, any of these 3 can lead the team in scoring and stopping 2 out of 3 is a coaches nightmare. Meanwhile, Fairfield on the season is averaging a paltry 61 PPG on 39% shooting. Only 2 players average double figures and the leading scorer averages 11.6 PPG. Fairfield has scored more than 70 points just once this year. They have lost 4 in a row including a 70-66 setback to a Yale team that was 1-6 before the game. Siena on the other hand hasn't scored less than 75 points in any game this year. Siena is a contender to win the MAAC this year and I just don't see Fairfield having enough offensive fire power to keep up with Siena. The play in this game is Siena as they will open conference play with a win over Fairfield.
I might have 1 more play to come tomorrow depending on the movement of the line.
