    Nurse Roberta and college football
I admit it, I'm one of the idiots that subscribed to our favorite medical graduate this year on a friend's advice. I subscribed to both his NFL and college picks. I understand bad luck, the unfortunate bounce of the ball, etc. But this guy's picks haven't even been close for the entire year and I suspect he's banging them out at roughly 35-40% for the year.

In the last 2 weeks, I have put the USA Today's lines in front of my 12-year old son and have asked him to just pick teams....not to look at lines, just to pick teams. He's hit at 50% for the last 2 weeks and didn't charge me a fee for signing up to his service.

Next year I will be going back to my old methods, which netted me 53% over the previous 5 years. At least at that number, I don't lose.

Looks like Roberta got slaughtered in the NCAA this week (her first losing week in the past 5 weeks - but 1-7 is a meltdown):

However your numbers for the past few weeks are a bit off because I had Roberta at 75% two weeks ago in the NCAA. Don't bother to pay for Roberta's service (or any tout for that matter) because you can find their information out there for nada anyway. Besides, as you said, it is better to do your own handicapping and use Roberta and other touts as a general reference. The SBR poster who typically posts Roberta's plays has been told to stop (?), but you can still find Roberta out there on other gambling forums (you just have to look a little harder).

Also, let's be clear on how Roberta has done in the past 4 weeks (I have been tracking the past 4 weeks only) because if you followed her best bet plays for the NFL and NCAA for past 4 weeks - you would have made a profit. However, you are correct, Roberta did get off to a horrendous start this year.

For the year the guy's under 50%. He has been better the last 4 weeks but as you said this weekend has been a bloodbath. And his first 6-7 weeks were terrible.

I'm sure I could get a complete record for him this year in the NCAA and the NFL, but I know already that he's been a total loser.

make that 0-6 on 3* with the ALA loss. It was close, though. 1 pt away from a push.

Exactly, which makes him a genius in my book, regardless of what % he's hitting for the year. Anyone else making millions from hitting around 40%? Didn't think so.

His house sure looked nice in that feature on ESPN....

On the other hand, the gambler guy who was looking at SBRlines looked like his living situation was not as comfortable....

Finally, Hank Weber's living situation does not look very good either....

By the way, Tunes, he's not a medical graduate at all.

In fact, he is a college dropout who had an interest statistics. That's all....

Oh, I'm sure Bear. I had no illusion that he would be an actual med school student. But he's smarter than I am, because he got me to donate. I lived....and I learned.

There's a difference between not winning every year and hitting 30% for the year. Whatever math model the guy devised may have worked for 2-3-4 years, but it's not working anymore.
