Toledo G Payne to take indefinite leave
TOLEDO, Ohio (Ticker) -- Toledo guard Kashif Payne has decided to take an indefinite leave from the men's basketball team, the school announced Saturday.
The reigning Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Year, Payne has left the team to attend to personal issues.
Last season, the 5-9 Payne started all 32 games, averaging 7.6 points and 4.2 assists.
The Rockets are now down to one returning starter from a 19-13 campaign that included a berth in the NIT last season.
