NCAA BBALL (2-3) (-1.3 UNITS)
**CAL - PK
-I like the guards of the Bears to handle Syracuse's 2-3 matchup zone. I really think getting in transition and cashing in on turnovers will be the key for Cal. The lack of a proven PG should present a problem for a turnover prone Cuse team tonight against an experienced and talented backcourt.
**OHIO STATE +2
-UNC is tough and this should be a great game. In the games I have watched this year UNC has seemed soft inside with the exception of Thompson. Ohio State plays physical Big 10 basketball and although they aren't as talented on the frontline, I believe they UNC will have to match their toughness. I give Ohio State the edge around the perimeter. Buford and Diebler can really shot the basketball. Again, I think turnovers will play a role here.
*RIDER +4
I am a bit confused by this spread. Rider managed to beat Miss State by 14 at Miss State, while Virginia gets routed by USF, but Rider is the underdog here. I realize it is early in the season and UVA is an ACC team, but Rider shoots 57% from beyond the arc and has proven they can beat a power conference team. Believe me, Miss State is likely a better team than Virginia.
