YTD: 25-19 +16.81 Units
Love these early season tourneys. The Puerto Rico tourney is always fun, but it's scary to think that this third world cesspool could be a U. S. State in the near future. Anywho, here are Thursday's picks. Nothing stands out as a strong pick, so all will be for 1 unit...
DAYTON pk vs. Georgia Tech
Both teams will end up in the Big Dance, but I like Dayton's experience combined with the fact thay've already had a tough opponent (Creighton) to give them the edge.
OLE MISS -9 vs. Indiana
Until IU can convince me that can compete on a level higher than Community College, I'll be fadin' away....
CAL pk vs. Syracuse
This will be Cal's chance to prove they're for real this year. An experienced Cal team with a great Coach should be too much for a younger Syracuse squad that hasn't seen real competition yet (but has a great coach).
LONG BEACH ST. +16 @ Notre Dame
If you're ever in Long Beach, you have to go to the Yard House, and get their apricot lager. That place rules. Anywho, Long Beach could be the next Gonzaga, mainly because Dave Monson used to Coach Gonzaga. But also because this team is loaded. And with a couple missing pieces in NDs roster, this one should stay close.
Tulane +10.5 vs. Miami
Miami will have a rebuilding year and Tulane will continue to do what it always does, be so-so. Miami has the edge in the frontcourt, but Tulane's experienced backcourt could keep it close.
Richmond -4 @ William & Mary
These schools aren't too far apart, so throw the home advantage out the window. In reality, Richmond has a chance to finally turn the corner in the A-14 (I mean A-10) with an experienced team, whereas William & MAry is still William & Mary.
LaSALLE +8 vs. S. Carolina
With this game being played in Charleston, SC has a semi-home advantage, but I semi-don't give a $hit because LaSalle is a very experienced team and SC had a knack for turning the ball over LY, and I'm assuming that habit hasn't miraculously been cured this ealy in the season.
