Georgia Tech, UNLV Over 141

Expect the scoreboard operator to be kept busy today as Georgia Tech’s encounter with UNLV should resemble a track meet.
Two hot offenses take the floor on Friday as Georgia Tech and UNLV should be lighting up the scoreboard early in the day.
The Yellow Jackets are coming off of a 112-point performance in a loss to Wake Forest in the ACC Tournament that will skew their scoring average, but they are still shooting 50.8 percent over their last five games. The Jackets are ranked 16th in the nation in scoring average on the season at 79.1 points per game, making them the highest-scoring Georgia Tech team since 1995-96. UNLV has not been outdone in the shooting department either, as the Rebels are shooting 50.7 percent from the floor over that same five-game span, including a very solid 45.1 percent from behind the arc. The Rebels also averaged 82.0 PPG over three games to win the Mountain West Conference tournament.
UNLV has played some of its best ball down the stretch, and the Rebels have reached the 70-point mark in 24 of 34 games this season. Though the Yellow Jackets have played some lock-down defense at times this season, they are seemingly happy to get into a running game with UNLV. Even Georgia Tech Head Coach Paul Hewitt gave us an inkling of what to expect today.
“Everybody is saying that it's going to be a fun game because we both play up-and-down styles, and I take it that it will be a fast-tempo type of game,” Hewitt said.
In fact Georgia Tech is averaging 89 points on 48.8 percent shooting in four neutral site games this season, so it appears that both of these offenses have the upper hand here against this relatively low number.
