    Seeding Question
Tell me why Memphis is projected as a 2 or 3 seed and Winthrop is projected in the 10 area.

    Memphis:
    30-3
Went 16-0 in a mid-major conference with no team that will even make the NIT.
    Beat 0 ranked teams.
Went 0-3 against their most difficult opponents, none of whom are currently ranked. The losses were by 7, 18, and 8.
Most impressive road win: at Houston, who will not even receive a bid to the NIT.

    Winthrop:
    28-4
Went 14-0 in a mid-major conference with no team that will even make the NIT.
    Beat 0 ranked teams.
Went 0-3 against their most difficult opponents, all of whom are currently ranked in the top 6. The losses were by 7, 3 (in OT), and 20.
Most impressive road win: at Missouri State, who is probably in the tournament, and at the worst on the bubble.

Because 30 wins on paper looks impressive. I see your point though Razz.

      Moore Power Rating:

      Memphis: 88.51 (6th overall)
      Winthrop: 75.66 (82nd overall)

Memphis would be a 12.85 point favorite.

      KenPom Power Rating:

      Memphis: .969 (9th overall)
      Winthrop: .833 (70th overall)

Memphis would be a 10.85 point favorite.

I'll let you bother with Sagarin if you wish.

Memphis is better. If you want to back Winthrop or fade Memphis feel free to do so, but Memphis really is a stronger team overall.

I was talking about seeding, not what the line would be if they played. Of course, if they somehow did meet, and Winthrop was catching double digits (the line would really be 7.5 at the most), it would be my biggest bet since LSU/Duke last year.

          LSU-Duke was a rock-paper-scissors thing. I'd be willing to lay 7.5 in a heartbeat.
