Also saw a discussion about different lines and people asking if you should pay the extra juice to get better lines. The answer to this question more often than not is do not buy pts or pay extra juice for a better line. But it’s not the end all be all.

in terms of a college basketball total I would suggest never buying pts for the most part. But a good rule of thumb is each half point is worth 5 cents of juice.

therefore if you have 2 different books one offering over 130 -110 and another offering over 129 at -120. The better play is over 130 at -110.. because the equal value line of over 130 -110 is over 129 at -115. Therefore over 130 @ -110 juice is the exact same play (or value) as over 129.5 @ -115. Hope this makes sense.

Most of the time buying pts isn’t the right decision. But there are outliers. But you won’t find this with college basketball totals given there are really no key numbers.

Where you will find the outliers mainly is when it comes to an nfl sides involving key numbers (example nfl team +2.5 at one book -110 and +3 -130 at another book. The better play is actually +3 at increased juice of -130)
