Bunch of games in the American today. Let’s take a quick glance at the slate.
We have Memphis vs USF. Penny’s team plays hard and gets out in transition, which is sort of the opposite of Brian Gregory’s much improved USF squad who are big, tough, and like to grind it out. USF has been a spread convering machine this year. No real lean in this just intrigued by the matchup. Do we fade USF at any point or ride them into the sunset?
Tulsa pays a visit to the roundhouse in Wichita this afternoon. That BTK serial killer documentary on 20/20 last night creeped me out. Wichita won a much needed contest against SMU last time out. They are definitely better than their record shows as Marshall’s boys showed poise and confidence down the stretch of that game. Tulsa is the better team but wouldn’t be surprised if the Shockers win another close one at home as they are not ready to start blowing teams out yet. I think it comes down to the wire.
Temple visits NOLA to play Tulane. Tulane has played better recently and is still looking for their first conference win. Tulane has a penchant for playing well at home. Bad news is that Temple is equally as hungry for win after coming off two losses. I think Tulane covers the double digit spread but lose again at home.
The Mustangs visit Cincy as double digit dogs. The Mustangs are again reeling from LB sanctions and injuries. I think McMurray gets locked down and the Bearcats slowly build a bigger and bigger lead as the game progresses. I’d lay the points with the Bearcats.
Any thoughts or opinions on these games are much appreciated? Good luck today!
