    Saturday 1/26 CBB Discussion
I used to like when 2dabank would make these discussion threads. I’ve been losing a lot lately and started second guessing myself. So bad to the point where the last 3 games I wanted to bet I told myself to pass, and I passed on winners in Washington, Gonzaga, and Michigan between last night and tonight.

On quick glance here’s the Saturday dogs I feel like could win SU:

    Florida +4 @ TCU
Kevaughn Allen is playin lights out right now and I don’t like this TCU swuad now nearly as much as when Jaylen Fisher was playing.

Iowa State +1 @ Ole Miss
Love the rebels home court but the cyclones are more talented and always attractive as a dog

South Carolina +3.5 @ Ok State
    Better team getting points...

    Vandy +10 @ Oklahoma
Vandy coming off a OT loss to #1, where they outrebounded the vols and outshot then beyond the arc... if they can do either against Oklahoma they can win.

    Mizzou +4.5 vs LSU
Mizzou lights out shooting from 3, especially at home, and Tilmon may be able to limit Naz Reid down low.

What do you think??? Am I crazy??

Also looking at these favs as easy covers:

    Marquette -2 @ Xavier
X cannot guard the 3, and that’s recipe for disaster against quette

    K-State -3.5 @ Texas A&M
What?? Thought spread would be double this...

    South Florida -3.5 @ ECU

Well you touched on a lot of matches there. Some I haven’t had too much time
    to look at.

But let’s just start with the few I have.

First Vandy, who although played Tennessee tough at home was also the same Vandy who lost by 16 at home the game before vs Mississippi St. On the surface it seems like a lot of points I agree, but Oklahoma can be suffocating on their home court and I’m not too sure Vandy will be able to keep up. But to your point if they shoot the ball the way they did against Tennessee they certainly have a chance.

The next one I’ll touch on is USF and ECU

Think this is tough spot for ECU after losing by 40+ to Houston and I think USF is getting them when they themselves are playing very well. Home court I think won’t be as much a huge factor considering USF has hung with and had some close loses to much better teams on the road than this ECU squad. That win over Cincy was special for ECU no doubt but they have been progressively playing worse ever since.

USF has been a spread covering machine. I took them very early in the year against The Ohio Bobcats. It was a Straight rocking chair winner. Wish I kept riding them after that. But in my opinion this line makes very little sense to me. Does ECU matchup well against big physical teams like USF and Cincy? I haven’t seen them play yet but a 40 point loss is ridiculous. Staying in the American, I kind of like Greg Marshall’s boys to play UConn tough tomorrow at Gampel. Markus Mcduffie will get whatever he wants against this UConn front court. The Shockers effort was poor last time out against USF and I would expect Marshall to right that ship. Jalen Adams is overrated and will turn the ball over. Not sure if I’ll definitely play it, but I like the Shockers plus the points.

Staying in the American with a bold prediction:

At home, the SMU Mustangs blow out Tulane today. This game will be a laughingstock.

Actually, scratch that, one of SMU’s best players and best defender, Jarrey Foster, is out for the season with a torn ACL. This team is already depleted due to NCAA restrictions. Very hard to back a team that only plays about 6 guys. My fault about that. I like the brainstrorming here though.

You beat me to it. Without Foster, SMU wasn’t very good early in the year. I wouldn’t be shocked if Tulane pulls the upset here. They already outrebounded the stangs this year but they shot horribly from 3 and lost by 9 at home. SMU could come out in a funk and any foul trouble at all could bury them here.

If Mark Smith plays for Mizzou tonight I think they can upset LSU at home with hot shooting
