Fellow posters,
I thought I'd give you some info for the UNC/SLU game on Friday. Specifically, I wanted to give you some info that you may not read anywhere else.
Tyler Hansbrough's hometown is Poplar Bluff Missouri (coincidentally, that is my hometown). The word is that he is very pumped up to play in St. Louis on Friday. Why????? My high school buddies are reporting that 4000 Poplar Bluffians will be at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis for the UNC/SLU game. The population on the City Limits sign of PB is 17000 currently so it'll be a good chunk of people from that area. One of my buddies works in a T-shirt print shop in PB and they made 4000 T-shirts to sell to all of those people. Tyler is a hero to Poplar Bluff. He and his brother won PB two state titles in basketball and beat Vashon High School in their final title. Vashon is recognized every year for having one of the best high school basketball programs in the nation.
I say all this factually and not to influence you to bet on UNC on Friday. I don't bet NCAAB so I don't know anything about who is good and bad. However, I do know that SLU has a pretty good post player in Vouyoukas. I have heard on local sports talk radio that Vouyoukas has a chance at being an NBA draft pick so this is not an automatic that Tyler is going to have a great game. It might be good if there is live betting on this game to see how Tyler does early and bet accordingly.
I've copied a link about Tyler in this post. It is interesting. Tyler definitely has a thing for Bluff. I will be at the game with one of those stinkin T-shirts on. Should be fun.
