UNC @ SLU Fri Dec 22
    Fellow posters,

I thought I'd give you some info for the UNC/SLU game on Friday. Specifically, I wanted to give you some info that you may not read anywhere else.

Tyler Hansbrough's hometown is Poplar Bluff Missouri (coincidentally, that is my hometown). The word is that he is very pumped up to play in St. Louis on Friday. Why????? My high school buddies are reporting that 4000 Poplar Bluffians will be at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis for the UNC/SLU game. The population on the City Limits sign of PB is 17000 currently so it'll be a good chunk of people from that area. One of my buddies works in a T-shirt print shop in PB and they made 4000 T-shirts to sell to all of those people. Tyler is a hero to Poplar Bluff. He and his brother won PB two state titles in basketball and beat Vashon High School in their final title. Vashon is recognized every year for having one of the best high school basketball programs in the nation.

I say all this factually and not to influence you to bet on UNC on Friday. I don't bet NCAAB so I don't know anything about who is good and bad. However, I do know that SLU has a pretty good post player in Vouyoukas. I have heard on local sports talk radio that Vouyoukas has a chance at being an NBA draft pick so this is not an automatic that Tyler is going to have a great game. It might be good if there is live betting on this game to see how Tyler does early and bet accordingly.

I've copied a link about Tyler in this post. It is interesting. Tyler definitely has a thing for Bluff. I will be at the game with one of those stinkin T-shirts on. Should be fun.

I didn't know that was your hometown bud. Thats basically a straight shot down 61/67.

Anyways, What station did you hear that on today Ebone 1380 or 590?

On a side note... Whats the latest on Vashon former coach Flyod Irons anyways?

Dan, if you are referring to the Vouyoukas info, Bob Ramsey is the play-by-play guy for the Billikens. He has said it on 590 before.

I don't know what is going on with Vashon but I sure am glad that Bonner is coaching them now instead of Irons. When I was a high school basketball player, we lost to Vashon in double OT in the sectional game to go to the Final Four. Irons made some real crappy comments about our team and I've never been able to forgive him for that. I gotta tell ya: it sure was sweet, sweet revenge to see the Hansbrough's kick the crap out of Vashon for the State Title in 2005. Floyd Irons had no idea what hit him. It was great.

I know Coach Irons is having some legal troubles after he was fired by the Superintendent. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.......

Bob Ramsey ... If you want a straight answer ask Slaten

Getting back on the subject at hand here.

SLU played really poorly against MO.ST. and won the game thanks to poor coaching and missed free throws in the last 3 minutes of that game. Coach Henson from Mo. St. should have been sitting his star guard when they were up 10 late in that game. In fact, SLU won that game thanks to Mo.St. TV coverage. If that game had A-10 TV coverage they never could have reviewed that tip in to give them the win.

I feel SLU is very out classed talent wise in this game, and pending what the number might be, I think laying the chalk might not be a bad idea IMO

            Dan,

Yeah, certainly Mr. Ramsey is on the SLU payroll so I don't know if what he says about Vouyoukas is correct.

Should be fun. I'm looking forward to running in to old friends at the game.
